Kathmandu, Sept. 28: The government Monday decided to table three bills that had already become inactive in the Federal Parliament for endorsement by submitting replacement bills.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar this evening, took a decision to this effect.

Making the Cabinet decisions public after the meeting, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said a bill prepared to make provision for the oath of office and secrecy of those public post holders and other remaining bills that had been in inactive mode will be tabled in the parliament for endorsement.

Minister Karki, who is also the government spokesperson, said another bill prepared to regulate sale and use of acid and other hazardous chemicals, a bill to amend the Nepal Police and Province Police Operations Supervision and Coordination Act, 2078 has been approved for submission to the Federal Parliament.

The government will table these bills as replacement bills for its endorsement which had already become inactive after it failed to endorse them within 60 days of issuance during the time of KP Sharma Oli-led government.
Meanwhile, the government has accepted the resignation of the Vice-chairman of the Social Welfare Council and other officials from the Council.

According to Minister Karki, the government has decided to accept the resignations of the officials including the Vice-chairman. They had tendered resignation en-masse on Friday.
With the acceptance of the resignation of the Council officials, the Social Welfare Council is left without a single official.

Minister Karki, who is also the spokesperson of the government, informed that the meeting approved the second amendment to the Chemical Fertiliser Control Order 2078 BS. The government has further decided to establish BP Koirala National Prize and give permission to Shikhar Municipality to lease government land for the construction of an administrative building.

The meeting has decided to approve various bills to be tabled in the Federal Parliament. Approved to introduce in the Federal Parliament are a bill to make provision for the control of public office holders, a bill to make arrangements for the control and regulation of acid and other hazardous chemicals, and a bill to amend the Nepal Police and State Police Operations Supervision and Coordination Act, 2078 BS.
The government has appointed journalist Bishnu Prasad Subedi of Gulmi as the executive chairman of Gorkhapatra Corporation (GC).
