Curfew continues in Palpa

Rampur, March 25 : District Administration Office (DAO), Palpa has continued curfew enforcement following violations of government-declared nationwide lockdown.    
The DAO has prolonged the enforcement of curfew from 3.00 pm Tuesday to March 31 after sporadic incidents of violation of lockdown – that was declared to tackle the possible outbreak of COVID-19 infections.    
Chief District Officer Yadav Subedi shared that curfew was clamped to control potential spread of coronavirus. He said action would be taken against those breaching curfew orders in line with the law. The DAO said the prohibitory orders were made to curb the infection in line with the Clause 6(3) of the Local Administration Act-2028 BS.    
20-bed quarantine in Rampur    
A 20-bed quarantine has been set up at the building of Balkalyan Primary School at Rampur municipality-5 to keep coronavirus suspects.    
Rampur mayor Raman Bahadur Thapa said mobile camps with health workers would be mobilized in villages and virus suspects would be quarantined from Wednesday onward.    
"We will keep citizens entering to the municipality from outside and suspected people at quarantine wards. It is of 20 beds for now but we are making preparation to expand it up to 200 beds to address the need".    
The citizens entering into the municipality territory from India and other third countries would be identified and quarantined under the aegis of ward office, he said.    
The municipality has arranged four personal protection equipments and two gun thermometers for the health workers involved in the treatment.    
Meanwhile, the DAO Palpa impounded 89 vehicles for violating the lockdown orders in Palpa. Prithvi Narayan Kafle of the District Traffic Office has said the vehicles were taken under control for disobeying the government order to shut the operation of all vehicles except for emergency service.
