Kavre, Oct 16: Communications and Information Technology Minister Gokul Prasad Baskota said on Wednesday that change could be felt in the country in some years.
He said so while inaugurating the 10-day Panchkhal Festival organised by the Panchkhal United Football Association.
Minister Baskota, also the government spokesperson, argued that the change could be felt in some years in the country as the government was on the mega campaign of development.
Stating that Panchkhal had the capacity to internalise the change in the country, he said, "Panchkhal is the main transit point of international connectivity. We are also moving ahead in developing Panchkhal in the international arena as well."
He said that the present year was the 'foundation-laying' year of the government and the coming year would be what he called the year of inauguration.
Minister Baskota urged people not to seek results of the works of the present government within mere one year.
The Communications and Information Technology Minister underscored the need of developing the Festival into a tradition, culture and celebration.
"Festivals and fairs should give priority to local tradition, culture, customs and products, and these should be publicized," he said.
State 3 Assembly member Laxman Lamsal, the District Coordination Committee deputy chief Manju Gautam, Panchkhal Municipality mayor Mahesh Kharel, among other speakers extended best wishes for the success of the Panchkhal Festival.
The Festival is organised targeting the Visit Nepal Year 2020. There are 105 local communities and business stalls including 20 stalls of agriculture products, secretary of the Festival organiser, Jeevan Nepal, said.
