Agencies, Los Angeles, Apr. 17: Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have confirmed that their engagement is over.
It was previously reported the couple, which became engaged in early 2019 after two years of dating, had parted ways, and despite claims the singer/actress and sportsman were working on their relationship, the pair issued a statement on Thursday confirming their time together had come to an end.
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” they told. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects.
“We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
Jennifer and Alex had to postpone their lavish destination wedding plans twice during the past year, due to coronavirus concerns.
In January, Alex admitted: “We tried (to wed) twice in 2020. We got bit twice by Covid-19. You know, they say in baseball, ‘Third time’s the charm,’ so let’s hope...”
