By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 26: The Ministry of Health and Population on Friday confirmed 156 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation's novel coronavirus tally to 276,665.

"In 4,416 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours,  156 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 1,299 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation and 52 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 70 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 272,342 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.4 per cent.

Moreover, four COVID-19 related fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours, currently, the nation's COVID-19 death toll is at 3,024.
