Dhanusha, May 20 : The State-2 government has decided to manage 305 more isolation beds to accommodate the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the province.    
A meeting of the State-level coronavirus prevention and control directive and coordination committee took a decision to this effect on Tuesday in view of the possibility of increase in the number of people infected with COVID-19. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut who is the committee coordinator.    
The additional isolation beds would be managed at various hospitals and health facilities in the State.    
Accordingly, 50 isolation beds would be added at Siraha hospital, 30 isolation beds would be added at Mahendra Genai hospital, 30 isolation beds would be added at Gaur Nursing Institute, 25 isolation beds would be added at Pokhariya hospital in Parsa, 50 isolation beds would be added Bhardaha hospital, Saptari, 25 additional isolation beds would be set up at Ramnarayan Yadav Nursing College, 50 additional isolation beds would be set up at Sai Krishna Medical premises and 50 additional isolation beds would be added at Bardibas hospital.    
The meeting also decided to appoint Dr Raj Kumar Mahato, former director at the National Public Health Laboratory Kathmandu, as the expert advisor to the committee for providing technical assistance, advice, coordination and facilitation for setting up RDT and PCR test lab in the State.    
The committee decided to intensify and expand the coverage of tests for coronavirus in the State-2 and to instruct the sides concerned for the same. It has also decided to prepare a State-level standard for the food and refreshments served to the COVID-19 patients kept in isolation and the suspected cases kept in quarantine facilities.    
Meanwhile, the State-2 government is presently focussed on increasing the number of quarantine facilities in the province as a large number of people continued to arrive in the eight districts of the State from India. All the eight districts in the State share border with India.    
There are 181 quarantine facilities with 5,697 beds in the State at present. Three thousand three hundred and sixty two people are quarantined.
