Kathmandu, Jan. 31: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Countries Art Exhibition of Children and Young Artists and Chinese-Russian Children's Art Exhibition were held online on January 28. The theme was “2022—Together for a Shared Winter Olympics Dream”. Nepal is a dialogue partner of the SCO.

The event reviewed the wonderful experiences of previous children’s art exhibitions since 2019, jointly held by the Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission (GNFCC) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), All-China Women’s Federation and other hosts and organizers. Zhang Ming, the SCO Secretary-General, and Cui Li, Vice President of GNFCC delivered speeches in written forms for this event.

As the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games is approaching, more than 1,200 artworks themed with the Winter Olympics will be exhibited at this exhibition.

In order to organise the art exhibition successfully, Research Centre of The Children’s Art Works CAFA had held several open lectures online. Chinese embassies in the SCO countries, embassies of SCO countries in China, and cooperative partners of GNFCC at home and abroad actively encouraged young people to create and submit their art works. “The number and the level of the art works reach the top on the record. The art exhibition will continue to provide platforms for children from the SCO countries to do exchanges, learn from each other and make progress together,” said the organisers.
