By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 9: The police have decided to file a case of misconduct against the Chinese nationals who had attacked the police force on May 8 when the police intervened in their protest at the restricted area.
Flouting lockdown measrues as well, some 47 Chinese national had staged protest at the gate of Singha Durbar, central secretariat of the government, which is a prohibited area for any demonstration, demanding special arrangement for them to return home.
Shyamlal Gyawali, Senior Superintendent of Metropolitan Police Range said, "A case of misconduct would be registered against the detainees, thereby extending the detention period on May 10, Sunday."
Further investigation would be conducted after registering the case, he added.
The Chinese nationals were arrested on May 8 from Singha Durbar on the charges of protesting at restricted zone.
According to Gyawali, Gavid and Leo Lao have been kept at Metropolitan Police Office, Durbarmarge and Zyang Zang and Gega Nyayi have been kept in Singa Durbar-based police office.
The police have freed other arrestees. The Chinese nationals had attacked the police by snatching their arms, which further led to scuffle between the Chinese nationals and the police force.
