Kathmandu, Jan 15: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has urged one and all to abide by safety protocol while celebrating the Makar Sankranti festival.

Extending a message of best wishes on the occasion of Makar Sankranti today, Vice President Pun reminded everyone to implement the health and safety rule the government has set in the wake of the increasing spread of coronavirus in the country.

He expressed the belief that the festival would inspire all Nepalis to be united to control the third wave of coronavirus. He further wished the Makar Sakranti inspired all Nepalis to implement the constitution and ensure durable peace and sustainable development.

The Makar Sankranti, also known as the Maghi and Maghe Sankranti is celebrated by many people including the Magar, Tharu and Chantyal communities.
