Khalanga, Feb. 9: Heavy snowfall has hit the life in Jumla for the third time this winter. The snowfall taking place for the last five days has obstructed the Nagma-Gamgadhi road, said the Road Division Office, Jumla.

Snowmass has been accumulated up to over two feet along the route from Bota of Jumla to Pina of Mugu, sending vehicles off the road, according to Office officiating chief Santosh Bhandari.

Bulbule, the border between Jumla and Mugu districts witnesses the thick deposition of snow. The road traffic could be restored in two days of the sunshine. Currently, the Office sees no possibility that the road will resume immediately. The road obstruction has caused inconvenience for the people of Jumla and Mugu

Locals said it was just a few days that the route was opened following the second snowfall before it got hit by the latest one.

The Jumla-Urthu-Patamara, Nyaurighat-Bulbule road serves as the shortest route to Mugu.

Rara Lake from Jumla has remained totally inaccessible because of the snow on the road, affecting the internal tourists and locals. Today, the highlands of Karnali witnessed snowfall.
