Second China-South Asian Literary Conference from Tuesday

Kathmandu, Oct 14: The second China and South Asian Literary Conference is taking place in the capital from Tuesday.
Representatives from Nepal, China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives are taking part in the conference to be organised by Nepal Academy.
A total of 16 working papers including four from Nepal would be presented in the conference, said Chancellor of the Academy Ganga Prasad Upreti.
Discussion would be held on working papers till October 17.
A programme has been scheduled to promote tourism where participants of the conference would visit cultural and tourism sites in order to help make the Visit Nepal Year 2020 a success.
The formal programme of the conference would conclude on October 17 and the participants would visit historical, cultural and archeological places of Kathmandu and Pokhara from October 18-20.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the conference on Tuesday.
The Academy said that it has been organizing such programme with an objective of taking its activities to international level and introducing Nepali litterateurs and writers to the latest academic trends of the world.
A total of 60 literary persons and intellectuals including 40 from Nepal would participate in the conference, according to the Academy.
On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Upreti announced that Nepal-China Translation Bureau is going to be established under the Academy.
