By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, Mar. 5: Multi-star movie Lappan Chhappan 2 has been released across the country on Friday. Directed and produced by Mukunda Bhatta, Lappan Chhappan 2 has a hoard of stars including Shiva Shrestha, Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Anoop Bikram Shahi, Prakash Kunwar, late Deepak Chhetri, Sarita Giri, Angel Shrestha, Anil Khanal and Rajendra Bista.
This action-packed film explores how businessmen, gangsters and politicians join hands for power and how they easily betray each other. The movie’s premiere in the capital on Thursday had drawn mixed reactions from the viewers.
Talking to the media after the premiere show, actor Shiva Shrestha had said, “Audiences would get a new taste as the content of the film is quite different from other films.” Belgian actress Carolyn Collinda has also appeared in the film. She was also present at the premiere and said that she was happy to play a Nepali film. “I am impressed by Nepali culture,” she said. Arpan Thapa, a major character in the movie, expressed confidence that the audience would be fully entertained.
“It has been a long time that the audiences have not been able to watch films on gangsters and politics,” said Thapa. Lappan Chhappan 2 was shot in Belgium, Australia, the Netherlands and Nepal.
With a sharp fall in COVID-19 infection allowing resumption of the film industry, producers have started releasing more Nepali films in the theatres. Last week, Sudarshan Thapa directed Ma Yesto Geet Gaauchhu 2 was released in the halls across the country. It was the first Nepali movie to attract moviegoers to the halls after the pandemic. Meanwhile, Hollywood superhero movie ‘The Batman’ was also released in multiplexes on Friday. Directed by Matt Reeves, Robert Pattinson has appeared as Batman.
