Joshi, Regmi, Bhandari honoured in Ilam

Ilam, Feb. 21: Nira-Rasik Foundation has honoured three creators, who have been contributing to the fields of journalism, art and literature.
The foundation, established by Ganesh Rasik, member secretary of Nepal Academy, in Suryodaya of Ilam, honoured folk singer LP Joshi, writer Chudamani Regmi and journalist Chandra Bhandari.
At a programme organised at Suryodaya Municipality, Minister for Tourism and Culture of Province 1 Khinu Langwa Limbu handed over cash prize of Rs. 20,000 and a letter of appreciation to each of them on Sunday.

The Narottam-Ratna Sharstha awards of last year and this year were also presented. The award ceremony had not been held last year due to the COVID-19.
Writer Chudamani Regmi and Folk singer LP Joshi were honoured with Narottam – Ratna Sharstha Samman 2077 and 2078, respectively.

Narottam-Ratna Sharstha Samman was established in 2019 in memory of Rasik’s father Narottam Rai and mother Ratna Thakuri Rai.
Similarly, journalist Bhandari was honoured with Nira-Rasik Journalism Award 2022, established this year in memory of Ganesh Rasik’s late wife Nira Sherchan Rasik.

Speaking at the programme, Minister for Tourism and Culture Limbu said that the province government was committed to preserving art and culture.
Journalist Chandra Bhandari said that the award he received had encouraged him to work more.
Ganesh Rasik, chairman of the foundation, has been involved in the development of Nepali songs, music, literature and communication for a long time.
