Kathmandu, Feb. 16: A clash took place between protesters demonstrating against the US aid project, MCC, and police in Newbaneshwar.
Leaders and activists of various political parties staged a protest today based on the information that the government would submit the MCC before the parliament for approval.
Police used water cannons to stop protesters trying to enter the parliamentary building from the entrance near Min Bhawan.
The situation remained tense in the Baneshwor area after clashes broke out between police and protesters. Transportation service on Maitighar-Tinkune road has also been affected due to the protest.
