Kathmandu, Mar. 9: Actress Deeya Pun, who is preparing to climb Mount Everest, the highest peak of the world, was bid farewell by the team of movie Mantra by handing over her national flag and movie poster in the capital on Tuesday.

Director, producer and other actors of Mantra bid farewell to actress Pun, the lead actress of the film. She is leaving to climb Mount Everest on Wednesday.
Actress Pun will reach atop Mt. Everest on April 6 if the weather becomes favourable. She is scheduled to return to Kathmandu by the end of May.
World-renowned climbers Nirmal Purja and Mingma Sherpa will accompany the actress. She is climbing the mountain through Elite Exped.

Actress Pun, who started mountaineering by climbing Mount Aconcagua, a 6,961-meter high mountain in Argentina, has also climbed 8,163-metre Mount Manaslu.
She is going to climb Mt. Everest at her own expense of Rs. 4.2 million for three charities-- National Health Service (NHS), Colchester Hospitals Charity UK and Children and Youth First in Nepal.
Regarding her eagerness to climb Mt. Everest, she said, “Manaslu was clearly visible in the morning while shooting the film Samagaun. At that time, I did not think that I will one day climb the mountain. Now I am trying to climb Mt. Everest.”

Actor Saugat Malla, who had an on-screen romance with actress Pun in the movie Mantra, said that her plans to climb Mt. Everest, which he had never imagined, added energy to him.
Director Khil Bahadur Gurung said that the film, which captures the beautiful scenes of the Himalayan region, has become an organic Nepali film. Gurung added that the film was shot with a great effort after reaching the base camp of Mt. Manaslu at an altitude of over 5,100 metres.

The film is based on the story surrounding the Manaslu area of Gorkha. The production team is confident that the scenes of the film, which was shot for the first time in Manaslu area, will win the hearts of the audiences.

The views of Chum Nubri Sama village, Birendra Lake and Pungin Gumba in Gorkha district have been captured in the film. Along with Saughat Malla and Deeya Pun, actors including Namita Ghising, Bir Bahadur Lama and Pasang T Sherpa have done the film.
The film will be released on April 29.
