Constructing road in Nepali territory by India condemnable: Leader Nepal

Kathmandu, May 10:  Leader of the Nepal Communist Party and Chief of Foreign Affairs Department of the Party, Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that constructing and inaugurating the road leading to Mansorobar of China via Nepali territory by India was condemnable.    

Issuing a press release, leader Nepal said that constructing road on Nepal’s territory all of sudden by India neglecting foreign affairs secretary level meeting proposed by Nepal to resolve border dispute was attack on Nepal’s sovereignty and integrity.    

He added previous agreements and pacts signed between two countries was violated due to this.    

Protesting India’s such move, also the former Prime Minister, Nepal urged India not to construct any structure in Nepal’s territory and use it.    

He clarified that Kali (Mahakali) river originating from Limpiyadhura is the border river between the two countries based on the historic evidences and proof.    

The press statement reads that including Lipulek in its map, deputing security personnel and constructing road by India was against provision and norms of Sugauli treat, leader Nepal.    

The former Prime Minister recalled that Nepal urged India time and again to take back its security personnel from Kalapani and to make correction on political map.    

The NCP leader drew government’s attention to hold high-level political discussion on the issue of border dispute and to take its land back.    

Drawing government’s attention to issue official map incorporating its all territory, he demanded the government to establish border mechanism at border areas, to regulate border regularly for the protection of Nepali territory and its nationals as well as to make appropriate arrangement of security personnel working at border areas of remote areas.
