Weather: Light to moderate rain forecast across country

Kathmandu, July 15: The weather would be partly to generally cloudy today due to the influence of monsoon wind. Similarly, light to moderate rainfall is likely at most of the places due to this.    

Meteorologist Nirajan Sapkota said that most of the places would experience partly to fully cloudy weather on Thursday and Friday due to the impact of monsoon wind and there is the possibility of light to moderate rainfall.    

The monsoon would be more active from coming Sunday and heavy rainfall would take place in western part of the country and light to moderate rain in other parts, he added.    

Some places of Province no 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces have now been witnessing light to moderate rain.    

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather across the country has remained generally to fully cloudy and light to moderate rainfall has been predicted at most of the places.    

There is the possibility of heavy rain along with thunder at some places of Lumbini and Gandaki provinces on Friday.     

As per the weather update of the Meteorological Forecasting Division, 9.5 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in Kathmandu Valley today.
