SC hearing on promotion of DIGs to AIG post

Kathmandu, April 5: A writ petition against the decision to promote three Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Nepal Police to Additional Inspector General (AIG) is being heard today.

A writ petition against the decision to promote three DIGs to AIG post has been fixed in a single bench of Supreme Court Judge Dr Kumar Chudal.

DIGs Ishwar Babu Karki, Ghanshyam Aryal and Prakash Jung Karki had filed a writ petition against the promotion in AIG.

The cabinet meeting held on March 31 had decided to promote three DIGs of Nepal Police Dhiraj Pratap Singh, Basant Pant and Rabindra Bahadur Dhanuk to AIG.
