NC has endorsed my political agenda, says Dr. Koirala

Inaruwa, Jan. 9: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala on Saturday said that his agendas were widely embraced in the party even though he suffered a defeat in election for the post of party president.
He made this remarks while addressing the 8th district convention of the Nepal Nijamati Karmachari Union, Sunsari.

Stating that the party was defeated in earlier three-tier elections because of its poor leadership despite the people having a huge support for the party, Dr. Koirala said the party would be No. 1 in the upcoming elections as it had now accepted his agendas. “Even Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba secured victory in the party’s internal election by adopting my agendas.”

According to Dr. Koirala, his agendas of implementing and timely amendment to the Constitution, educating the party’s frontline workers through political ideologies as per the party’s statute -- such as nationalism, democracy and socialism -- have received due recognition in the party now.

He said his team would speed up ideological link with party organisational structure and launch programmes to push it forward. “I believe this move will further strengthen the party.”
Province 1 Internal Affairs and Law Minister Kedar Karki urged the civil servants associated with the NC to take pride in the democratic legacy of the party.
NC Central Member Rajib Koirala said he would take steps to make the party stronger at the national level.
