Govt scraps appointment of CAAN board members from private sector

The government has decided to scrap the provision of appointing two persons from the private sectors in the Civil Aviation Authority Board of Directors. The provision of appointing two persons from private sectors was mentioned in Section 13 of the Sub-section 1 of the Civil Aviation Authority Act-1996. Instead of the provision, the government decided to nominate two civil aviation experts with a compulsory provision of having one of the female.
