COVID-19: 38 new cases in State no. 1 

A total of 38 people were confirmed positive to Corona Virus in State no. 1 on Friday. Of them, 28 are from Jhapa and five each from Morang and Udayapur districts, according to the Ministry of Social Development.    

  COVID-19: 80 per cent infected of Karnali recover  

The number of people recovering from Corona Virus in Karnali has surpassed the number of infected. On Friday alone, 51 infected including two women returned home after recovery.    

MCC on hold: Minister Khatiwada

Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada said the ongoing budget session of the federal parliament was prorogued due to COVID-19. So the US was informed that the MCC compact aimed at development of energy and transport sectors could not be endorsed by the parliament at present. He however said government was for the implementation of MCC compact.

Case filed against Bamjan aka little Buddha and two others on child sexual abuse

The case has been filed against Ram Lal Bamjan called as Ram Bahadur Bamjan, Gyan Bahadur Bamjan known as Tokteng Mahatma Guru who is also chief of Pattarkot-based Bodhi Marga Darshan Ashram and Jit Bahadur Tamang called as JB Guru.

85-year old COVID-19 patient dies at Kathmandu-based hospital

An 85-year old male of New Baneshwor, Kathmandu receiving treatment in isolation at Kathmandu-based private hospital who died on July 1 has been found to be COVID-19 positive, informed Dr Jageshwor Gautam in the daily press briefing today.

209 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Accham district

Swabs collected from different quarantine places in the district were sent to National People's Health Laboratory, Kathmandu, Patan Hospital and Seti Provincial hospital for the testing.

20 houses of eastern area of Kailali inundated

Some 20 houses at Rajipur of ward 3 and Fariya village of ward 4 of Joshipur Rural Municipality have been inundated with two-feet high water logging, said DSP Bista.

Landslide kills two children in Gulmi  

Two children have died while one has gone missing in incidents triggered by incessant rain in the past 24 hours in Gulmi.     The 18-month-old Suraj, son of Basanta Saru of Maldi, Isma rural municipality 1 was killed by a landslide on Thursday midnight, confirmed District Police Office's Superintendent of Police Rajendra Singh Khadka. The child's parents have also sustained injuries in the incident.         

CMS dillydallies for land rent payment

The Bharatpur-based College of Medical Sciences (CMS) operated on the investment of Indian nationals is dillydallying for the payment of the land rent worth amounting to over Rs 25.8 million to the Bharatpur Hospital. 

Coronavirus infection rate rising in Sudurpaschim

The tally of coronavirus infection cases has rose to 2,933 in the Sudurpaschim State with the addition of 333 new cases in a day Thursday.    

Millions with unknown source confiscated

On June 29, the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, arrested two individuals with more than Rs. 6.5 million without clear source of earning. Following a tip off regarding the operation of business related with illegal money, the police from Kalimati had arrested 47-year-old Ramesh Singh, a resident of Bara, and 25-year-old Ravi Shankar Singh, an Indian national, from a house in Kuleshwor, Kathmandu.

49-day old infant succumbs to COVID-19 in TUTH

The infant, originally from Dhaulagiri Municipality-4, Myagdi, was admitted to TUTH on June 18 and was receiving treatment in ventilator in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

A record 32 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Kathmandu in a single day

17 females and 11 males of Kathmandu and two males each from Bhaktapur and Lalitpur were identified with SARS-CoV-2 infection in the last 24 hours. It is the highest number of infections recorded so far in single in day in the Kathmandu Valley.
