TUTH launches PCR test for COVID-19

TU Vice Chancellor Dharma Kanta Baskota inaugurated the COVID-19 laboratory based in the hospital today. As he said, the laboratory was established in coordination with the government and it was launched with a view to expanding the testing coverage.

A 35-year old male working at Grande Hospital's laboratory tested COVID-19 positive, informed Dr Bashudev Pandey, Chief of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division. Dr Pandey said that contact tracing of those who had come in contact with the patient had started in the hospital.

Lawmaker demands food supply by helicopter in Darchula

Meeting the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply, Lekharaj Bhatta, recently, lawmaker Dhagunna said the government could manage food supply in Chhangru and Tinkar people by helicopter as there was no better option than this to supply food. In Nepali side, there is no way for beast of burden to carry the load. The people however reach Kucha from Khalanga on foot to collect food.    

National COVID-19 tally hits 548 with 32 more cases

Eight persons, a female and seven males of Banganga Municipality, Kapilvastu, 13 men from Godaita Kabilashi Municipality, Sarlahi and two female from Kathmandu and Karaiyamai Rural Municipality, Bara were identified with COVID-19 infection in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test done at National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL), Kathmandu.

Nine more COVID-19 cases detected, national tally hits 516

Nine persons from Makwanpur, Bhaktapur, Saptari and Bara were identified with COVID-19 infection, informed the Ministry by issuing a press statement.

NA disposes dead body of COVID-19 infected person in jungle

The meeting of the Hospital management, Nepal Police, Nepal Army and local people’s representatives took the decision to dispose the dead body in a jungle in the eastward from Butwal, according to the District Administration Office, Gulmi.
