No one can stop election: FM Gyawali

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali said on Monday that no one could stop the election as the country had already been ready for fresh mandate. Addressing a gathering of the leaders and cadres of the Oli-led faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in Tamghas, Gulmi, he said that the election would take place on the stipulated dates. Minister Gyawali also instructed the leaders and cadres to participate in the electoral process.

Election doubts have no basis: DPM Pokhrel

Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel has instructed the party cadres to be prepared for elections. Speaking at a swearing-in ceremony organised for the district convention organising committee members on Monday, DPM Pokhrel said that the division in the Nepal Communist Party was due to failure in managing internal dispute in the party.

Japanese encephalitis still prevalent in 17% Nepali population

Doctors have said that of 17,875 Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in Nepal, 3,067 cases, 17 per cent of the total number of cases, are confirmed as Japanese Encephalitis, JE in short. Mortality rate from JE in Nepal is still 20-60 per cent of the total number of cases, according to Prof. Dr. Ajit Rayamajhi, head of the Pediatric Department at Kanti Children’s Hospital. Across Asia, the JE virus cases occur in around 69,000 individuals mostly to children every year, he said.

Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel has said that the House of Representatives will be reinstated. Speaking at a press meet organised by Nepal Press Union Saptari chapter in Rajbiraj on Sunday, senior leader Paudel said that there was no alternative to the reinstatement of the House as Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had not abided by any Article of the Constitution while dissolving the House of Representatives.
