Govt. expenditure crosses previous FY spending by Rs. 30bln, yet below target of current FY

The FCGO data showed that the government in the current FY has incurred a capital expenditure of Rs. 192.5. In the previous FY, the government had incurred Rs. 189.08 billion for capital expenditure.

Scanty rain affects paddy plantation in Sarlahi

With over a week of dry spell, paddy plantation has started becoming affected in several parts of Sarlahi. Cracks have developed in the paddy fields as they are drying up owing to a lack of irrigation facilities and rain. 

Export of cardamom doubles

With exports almost doubled, large cardamom has topped the list of items among Nepal’s good exportable products this fiscal year. According to the trade statistics of the Department of Customs, cardamom exports have reached around Rs. 6.7 billion during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year. This is 93.7 per cent higher than the export of the same period last year.

The prohibitory order imposed in Kalikot district from the third week of May is being relaxed. After a sudden rise in the number of COVID-19 patients, the District Administration Office, Kalikot, issued a restriction order effective from May 22, 2021.

57% paddy plantation complete across nation

Paddy plantation is going on in full swing across the country, thanks to the timely and regular rainfall. According to the statistics of the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, paddy plantation has completed at around 56.61 per cent of land by Tuesday (July 6, 2021). Out of 1.37 million hectares of paddy fields across the country, plantation has already been completed in 776,490 hectares so far.

Paani project takes initiatives to protect local fish in Bajhang

Process to send caregivers to Israel to begin soon, amendment to curriculum at final stage

Director General of Department of Foreign Employment Krishna Prasad Dawadi informed that amendment to the curriculum has already started as per the suggestions from different quarters for simplifying the technical part of the subject.
