Road tunnel works begin at Lamabagar of Dolakha

Construction of a tunnel has begun at Lamabagar in Bigu Rural Municipality-1 of Dolakha district. The tunnel is being constructed along the north-southern corridor section of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower project. MV Dugad Hydropower Company Limited, which has been constructing the 160-megawatt Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower along the Lapchi River, has begun the construction of the tunnel in its own investment just above the dam construction site.

65,000 cattle vaccinated against foot-and-mouth in Dhanusha

The Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Services Expert Centre, Dhanusha, has vaccinated 65,000 cows and buffaloes against the foot-and-mouth disease (FMD). The vaccine has been given free of cost for the prevention and control of the FMD in cows and buffaloes.

Electricity leakage falls to 9.10% in five months

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has reduced the electricity leakage in distribution to 9.10 per cent in the first five months of the current fiscal year 2021/22. The power utility has reduced the accumulated leakage by 2.82 per cent in distribution during the first five months of the current fiscal year as compared to the same period last fiscal year thanks to the regular campaign for power supply and control of technical and non-technical leakages.
