Dordikhola to begin power generation by mid-July

The 27-megawatt Dordikhola Hydroelectricity Project under construction on the Dordi River in Lamjung is expected to start generating electricity within the current fiscal year. Sites yet to be fixed for construction of temporary isolation centres

Nepali Army is still in a dilemma about constructing 1,000-bed temporary and multi-purpose isolation and holding centres along Nepal-India border as the government has not yet arranged proper land to build them. Last week, a meeting of the Council of Ministers had decided to hand over the task of constructing isolation and holding centres to the army to house Nepali citizens especially those returning home from India.

Govt mobilising police to collect oxygen cylinders

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday said that it has been actively engaged in market intervention to prevent oxygen cylinder shortage and make its supply system reliable. “Oxygen cylinders are being accumulated in special police operations and surveillance and in the spontaneous efforts of some industries themselves,” Joint Secretary Janak Raj Dahal said in a press note issued this evening.
