FM Sharma urges RBB to increase investment in agro sector

Addressing the 57th anniversary of the Bank on Monday, Finance Minister Sharma said that the RBB would definitely increase its 11 per cent investment in agro sector, five per cent in tourism and five per cent in industrial sector in its new programme to be formulated with its 57th anniversary. “It will be significant contribution in national capital, production and employment”, he said.

537 health workers contract corona virus in Chitwan

Himalaya Airlines awarded ISO 9001:2015 QMS certification

The Nepal-China-Joint Venture airline has received the certificate on December 29, 2021, in recognition of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) which complies with ISO 9001-2015, Himalaya Airlines said in a press release today. The airlines earned the ISO certificate for “Providing Air Transport for Traveling Passengers and Freight, including Aviation Related Training Services”.

So far, 80 and 70 percent of the population has been administered first and full dose respectively, he informed, adding that preparations were underway to vaccinate people between the 12-17 age group. The death toll among those who received the first dose has been at two percent and among those who were fully vaccinated at one percent, he said at a face-to-face programme organised today in Butwal by the Reporter’s Club, Lumbini Province.

Over 7,000 tonnes fertiliser at Birgunj dry port dumped to rot

Fertiliser weighing 7,591 metric tonnes dumped at the Birgunj dry port for the past one and a half years has yet to be properly managed, thanks to negligence on the part of authorities. Repeated calls to the Ministries of Finance and Agriculture and Livestock to manage the fertiliser have gone unheard, it has been said. Lack of coordination among the ministries and other concerned authorities has made the matter worse, said the customs office.

300 health workers test COVID positive in Gandaki in three weeks   

As many as 300 health workers, including doctors and nurses have tested positive for coronavirus in merely three weeks in Gandaki province. Mostly the health workers of Paschimanchal Regional Hospital and Infectious Disease Hospital under the Pokhara Health Science Academy – where the coronavirus patients are beingn treated – have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
