Four Nepalis entering India illegally arrested 

The Indian police have arrested four Nepalis while illegally entering India via tube in Mahakali River.     The arrested ones were from Baitadi district who were sneaking into India in prospects of better job opportunities since the Jhulaghat border point with India was shut down since the nation-wide lockdown imposed by the federal government to contain the Coronavirus spread.   

Study begins for land development in Manahunkot  

A study has begun for land development at Byas municipality-5, Manahunkot of Tanahun. The municipality has initiated the study on Monday with a view to managing and developing the land at Manahunkot.

Entrepreneurs urge government to ease supply of stuck goods at transit with China  

The business community has urged the government to create an environment conducive to ease the supply of goods stuck at the transits with China due to lockdown over COVID-19.     The National Entrepreneurs Federation of Nepal in a statement on Tuesday took a decision in this regard. The supply of stuck goods has not been easy despite repeated calls to the line minister and top leaders of various political parties, said the Federation’s President Naresh Katuwal.    

Sudurpaschim government overwhelmed with unemployment benefit applications  

The Agriculture and Livestock Special Programme being implemented in the Sudurpaschim province has received more than the expected number of applications.     The province government has brought this programme targeting the COVID-19 affected people. The Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, which is implementing the programme, is in dilemma how to address the sheer number of applicants. 

Investment Board approves FDI worth over Rs 38 billion   

The Investment Board has approved foreign direct investment worth Rs 38.68 billion for the three mega hydro power projects (hydel).     The 45th meeting of the board on Tuesday that was chaired by the Board’s chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli approved the foreign investment for the hydel projects to be constructed as per the public private partnership.
