K2 winter summiteers receive a rousing welcome home  

The Nepali team of 10 mountaineers, who created a new world record, of successfully climbing the world's second highest mountain K2 were welcomed back home in a grand manner.

Anti-COVID vaccination to start Wednesday   

Covishield, the vaccine against COVID-19 has arrived in Karnali province from the central government on Monday night. A total of 24,000 vile of the vaccine were transported to Karnali via the Nepalgunj cold store, after it was received from Kathmandu.    

Elephantiasis virus found in Narayansthan and Kushmisera 

Lymphatic filariasis, commonly known as Elephantiasis has stood as a health challenge again in Baglung. Just before the start of the 12th phase of Elephantiasis prevention campaign, the disease was found in Narayanthan of Balewa and Kushisera of Jaimini of the district.     

Province 2 to administer Covid-19 vaccines from 27 January

CM Raut is scheduled to inaugurate the campaign at Birgunj-based Narayani Hospital, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of the province Gyanendra Kumar Yadav at Provincial Hospital, Janakpurdham and Minister for Social Development Nawal Kishor Sah at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj, said Province 2 health director Bijaya Jha.

Elections may postpone in case of delay in court verdict: Home Minister Thapa

Whether the elections would take place in the scheduled time period (30 April and 10 May) depends on how soon the court delivers a verdict on the subject, he said. "The government is ready to organise the elections within the stipulated timeframe. The Election Commission and all security agencies are prepared for this. We are waiting for a court verdict," he said at a press conference organised here by the Press Organisation Nepal, Kalikot.

Kathmandu Valley to get traffic lights

The project would be implemented within the current fiscal year, 2020/21, said Krishna Nath Ojha, chief of the road safety and traffic section under the Department, adding that an agreement was reached for the project at the cost of Rs 11 million.

Two die in tipper, motorcycle collision   

Two persons were killed when a tipper truck (Na 8 Kha 980) collided head on with a motorcycle (Ja 6 Pa 1409) along Gaushala-Samsi road in the district today morning.
