NATTA gets Thapa as its new President 

The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), the oldest umbrella organisation of tourism entrepreneurs, has got Ramesh Thapa as its new President. NATTA's 55th annual general meeting was held on Thursday.    

Transport fares to increase by 11-14%

Following this, transport fares could see 11 to 14 percent increment, said Namraj Ghimire, Director General of the Department. Price adjustment will be carried out scientifically and technically and its decision would be taken on coming Sunday.

Ministry of Finance calls for suggestions on upcoming budget

The Ministry of Finance has requested one and all to provide their suggestions for the preparation of the budget for the coming Fiscal Year 2079/080. To this end, the ministry has launched toll free number 1138 to collect suggestions and recommendations.

Process for printing of ballot papers for local polls begins

The process to print ballot papers for the May 13 local election has started. Printing of ballot papers would be tested for three days to keep up with the standards for printing ballot papers, said spokesperson for the Election Commission, Shaligram Sharma Paudel.

Ruling coalition partners have agreed to make electoral collaboration in the upcoming local-level election. The meeting of the top leaders of the ruling coalition held today decided to go for a local-level election scheduled for May 13 making an electoral alliance, said Vice-Chairperson of Rashtriya Janamorcha, Durga Poudel.

Three youths arrested with Rs 6.3 million illegal money 

Three people have been held with Rs 6.3 million without legal source in the last five days. Deputy Superintendent at the District Police Office, Prakash Bista said two youths were arrested along with Rs 5.5 million in illegal money last Sunday while the next one has been held in possession of around Rs 800 thousand illegal money on Thursday.
